MTN South Sudan has pledged
continued cooperation with the National Communication Authority (NCA) to
support national ICT goals, expand connectivity and improve telecommunications
services following the reappointment of Eng. Gieth Kon Mathiang as Director
General of the regulator.
The company’s executive
team, led by Chief Executive Officer Mapula Bodibe, paid a courtesy visit to
the NCA headquarters in Juba to congratulate Mathiang on his reappointment and
welcome him back to lead the sector.
During the engagement, MTN
reaffirmed its commitment to working in alignment with regulatory frameworks to
advance South Sudan’s ICT objectives.
Both parties expressed a
shared commitment to scaling up telecommunications infrastructure and extending
reliable mobile and data connectivity to underserved communities.
They also highlighted the
importance of proactive cooperation during electoral processes, with a focus on
streamlining regulatory compliance, enhancing service quality and protecting
consumer interests.
The NCA reaffirmed its
commitment to working with all licensed operators and service providers to
promote a transparent, competitive and thriving telecommunications sector
across South Sudan.
