Senegal’s
Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with Visa to accelerate the modernisation of public
services and develop the country’s digital payments ecosystem.
The
agreement was signed during a meeting chaired by Minister of Telecommunications
and Digital Affairs Samba Diouf and a Visa delegation led by Aminata Kane,
Senior Vice President and Director for West and Central Africa.
The
partnership is part of the implementation of Senegal’s New Deal Technologique
and aims to strengthen public-private cooperation in advancing the country’s
digital transformation.
The
collaboration seeks to translate commitments into concrete, secure and
inclusive digital solutions adapted to the needs of citizens.
Beyond
modernising public services, the cooperation is expected to strengthen
financial inclusion and contribute to the emergence of a sovereign, efficient
and resilient digital ecosystem.
The
partnership positions digital technology as a lever for development, innovation
and inclusion for all Senegalese.
