WhatsApp Channels have recently been updated with new features as part of its global rollout. Among these features, users can now express their reactions using emojis, while channel admins are given the worth of editing updates for up to 30 days beyond their posting date.
Furthermore, the directory has been newly enhanced to beyond its prior capacity of merely listing channels, automatically filtering those channels that are available to follow based on the user's country, effectively cutting down on irrelevant search results.
WhatsApp's new feature, similar to Telegram's Channels, is now available worldwide. It lets select users and brands create one-way broadcasts for their followers.
The service has announced a new feature that is set to be introduced in over 150 countries in the coming months. WhatsApp Channels will also receive additional functions, including the ability to express reactions using emojis.
This feature was recently tested on the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. Although your reaction will not be visible to other followers, any user can view the number and type of reactions given to a specific update.
Sending emoji reactions can be a valuable way to interact with channels and communicate your thoughts on their content to the administrators. Nonetheless, messaging applications like Telegram offer even more possibilities beyond this. They allow users to leave comments on particular channel updates while also using emoji reactions.
When sharing an update on WhatsApp chats or groups, a link will be provided to allow recipients to access the original update. Furthermore, WhatsApp admins have the ability to make edits to their updates within a 30-day time frame.
However, beyond this window, the updates will be automatically deleted. This noteworthy feature was initially introduced in a select few countries in June and has been steadfastly in place ever since.
