The Communications
Regulators’ Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) and Smart Africa have held a
coordination meeting to finalise preparations for a workshop on implementing
sub-regional roaming agreements and advancing the One Africa Network, scheduled
for October 20–22, 2026, in Gaborone, Botswana.
The workshop will focus on
stakeholder engagement and knowledge exchange on the One Africa Network,
supporting efforts to strengthen regional cooperation on cross-border
communications.
The coordination meeting
also provided an opportunity for CRASA, Smart Africa and the Smart Africa
Digital Academy (SADA) to discuss future collaboration, including opportunities
for capacity building, knowledge exchange and coordinated efforts to advance
regional digital integration.
The organisations said they
look forward to continued engagement in support of affordable, seamless
cross-border communications and an inclusive digital future for Africa.
