Vodacom Mozambique and the
National Agency for Tourism Development and Investment (ANDITUR) have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the digitalisation and
promotion of Mozambique’s tourism sector.
The agreement was signed in
Vilanculos and is aimed at creating conditions for a more connected,
innovative, inclusive and competitive tourism sector through digital
transformation, connectivity and strategic partnerships.
The partnership seeks to
strengthen the promotion of national tourism while supporting the development
of better experiences for visitors and generating new opportunities for
businesses and local communities.
Mozambique has extraordinary
destinations, cultural richness and significant tourism potential. However,
turning these assets into development opportunities requires innovation,
connectivity and strategic partnerships.
Vodacom Mozambique said the
collaboration represents an important step towards leveraging technology to
transform the tourism sector and support the country's broader development
ambitions.
The telecommunications
company emphasised its belief that technology has the power to bring people
together, transform sectors and accelerate national development.
