Officials of
the World Bank and National ID Ethiopia have visited Ethiopost, the strategic
partner responsible for printing and distributing the Fayda National ID cards.
The visit focused on gaining an in-depth understanding of the entire customer
experience, from the initial request for the ID cards to the final collection
process.
Ethiopost, as a
key partner in the Fayda program, plays a crucial role in ensuring the
efficient delivery of these national ID cards, which are essential for citizens
to access a wide range of services. The tour provided officials with insights
into how Ethiopost facilitates the process, ensuring that citizens are able to
interact with their services seamlessly, from the moment they request an ID
card until they receive it.
Following the
visit, discussions between the officials and Ethiopost representatives centered
on expanding the partnership to ensure that the Fayda ID service becomes even
more accessible to citizens across the country. By streamlining the issuance
process and extending its reach, the partnership aims to support Ethiopia’s
broader national development objectives. The Fayda National ID is seen as a
critical tool for enabling access to essential services, including healthcare,
education, and financial services, while also promoting digital inclusion.
Both the World
Bank and National ID Ethiopia are committed to working with Ethiopost to
strengthen the infrastructure needed to make the Fayda National ID accessible
to all citizens, ensuring that the program supports national development goals
and improves citizens' access to vital services.
