IBM says
it has appointed Ana Paula De Jesus Assis as its new General Manager for Europe,
Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) operations.
Ms. Assis who has been with IBM for the past 25 years has
previously held a number of executive positions with IBM including general
manager for the Latin America region, during which she drove sustained growth,
and increased market share.
She also held multiple IBM strategic business
positions in the United States, as well as holding the role of vice-president
of software sales in China. Additionally, Assis, who was recognized as
“Personality of the Year – Digital Transformation” by the Institute of Learning
& Performance in 2018, is a board member at Junior Achievement Americas,
dedicated to inspiring and preparing young students to become entrepreneurs.
Other accolades include being recognized by Forbes as
one of the Best Brazilian CEO’s in 2019, and amongst the top 100 executives with
best reputation in Brazil, according to MERC0 (2021)
