MTN Benin has collaborated with Huawei to host the Future Tech Summit 2026 in Cotonou, bringing together public and private sector stakeholders to explore the role of smart technologies in accelerating Benin’s digital transformation.

The summit was organised under the theme of training, connecting, and projecting the country’s digital ecosystem into the future, with discussions centred on how emerging technologies can transform operations and unlock new economic growth opportunities.

Speaking at the opening session on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Benin, Uche Ofodile, Chief Financial Officer Yao Kouadio said the summit reflects MTN’s commitment to building a structured framework where technological innovation is aligned with Benin’s broader economic priorities to drive sustainable growth.

He noted that collaboration between industry stakeholders, government actors, and technology partners such as Huawei is essential to strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem and improving competitiveness.

Discussions at the summit focused on key pillars of digital development, including infrastructure expansion, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data systems, and business-to-business innovation, with an emphasis on performance-driven and impact-oriented solutions.

Two major panel sessions were held during the event, examining digital transformation as a driver of economic growth and exploring how artificial intelligence can be integrated into enterprise operations to create value and improve efficiency.

Organisers said the Future Tech Summit 2026 is intended to serve as a platform for sustained dialogue and collaboration aimed at supporting Benin’s long-term digital transformation and strengthening its position in the regional digital economy.
