MTN Zambia honours football excellence at 2025/2026 MTN Super League Awards

MTN Zambia has celebrated the achievements of players, coaches, match officials, media practitioners and fans at the 2025/2026 MTN Super League Awards, recognising outstanding contributions that helped make the season a memorable one.

The awards ceremony brought together key stakeholders from the football fraternity, government officials and corporate partners to honour excellence across various categories within Zambia’s top-flight football league.

The event was attended by the Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Hon. Kangwa Chileshe, who served as Guest of Honour. Also present were Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary Lawrence Mwanza, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba, Zambian Premier League Chief Executive Officer Joseph Chimpamwe, MTN Zambia Chief Home and Special Projects Officer Elias Chembe, and Acting Chief Commercial Officer Aaron Simumba.

In his keynote address, Chileshe praised the continued growth of the MTN Super League and highlighted its role in fostering national unity, inspiring young people and contributing to the development of football across Zambia.

He noted that the league continues to provide a platform for nurturing local talent while strengthening the country's sporting landscape.

Other speakers at the ceremony underscored the importance of collaboration between football stakeholders, sponsors and government institutions in driving the growth of the sport and creating opportunities for players and other industry participants.

The awards also recognised outstanding performances during the season. Albert Kangwanda of Red Arrows was named Player of the Season following an impressive campaign, while Moses Shumah of Power Dynamos claimed the Top Goal Scorer award after finishing the season with 21 goals.

FC MUZA’s Given Kalusa was honoured as Young Player of the Season in recognition of his exceptional performances and contribution to his team throughout the campaign.

MTN Zambia said its continued sponsorship of the league reflects the company’s commitment to supporting football development in the country and investing in platforms that celebrate excellence both on and off the field.

The telecommunications company reaffirmed its dedication to working with stakeholders to strengthen the game and provide opportunities for talent development at all levels of Zambian football.
