The Regulatory Authority for
Telecommunications and ICT (ARTCI) has continued its engagement with key
professional sectors in Côte d’Ivoire to promote compliance with personal data
protection regulations, presenting its CERTINUM platform to insurance companies.
The platform was presented
to member companies of the Association of Insurance Companies of Côte d’Ivoire
(ASA-CI) at the association’s headquarters.
Officially launched in July
2026, CERTINUM is a national digital platform designed to facilitate the
dematerialised management of compliance and authorisation requests relating to
the processing of personal data.
The engagement also provided
an opportunity for ARTCI to brief insurance sector stakeholders on key
requirements under Côte d’Ivoire’s personal data protection framework and the
obligations applicable to organisations that process personal information.
The session was attended by
ASA-CI Executive Director Gérard Ballo and Désiré Aka, Director of Data
Protection and Privacy at ARTCI, who participated in discussions on the
platform and data protection requirements.
ARTCI said the engagement
forms part of its broader efforts to support professionals in strategic sectors
by providing digital tools that simplify compliance procedures and encourage
responsible management of personal data.
The regulator has previously
introduced CERTINUM to banking and financial institutions as part of efforts to
strengthen digital compliance and improve interactions between organisations
and the data protection authority.
The continued rollout of the
platform is expected to make compliance procedures more accessible while
strengthening awareness of personal data protection obligations across Côte
d’Ivoire’s digital economy.
