At
the SADEN 2026 forum, Guinean officials and stakeholders have underscored the
strategic importance of digital transformation in strengthening the
competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly as
the country seeks to integrate emerging technologies into its economic
development agenda.
Rose
Pola Pricemou, Counsellor to the Presidency in charge of New Technologies and
Artificial Intelligence, participated in a high-level plenary session focused
on how Guinean SMEs can leverage artificial intelligence, digital tools, and
local content development to expand their access to markets, including
opportunities within the Simandou economic corridor.
The
session, held under the theme “AI, Digital and Local Content: How Guinean SMEs
can benefit from the technological revolution to win Simandou markets,”
examined the capacity gaps and structural challenges facing local businesses in
adapting to rapid technological change.
Opening
the discussions, Pricemou emphasized that digital technology is no longer a
complementary tool for modernisation but a core strategic priority for Guinea’s
economic transformation. She noted that the key challenge for local enterprises
lies in the effective adoption of digital skills and technologies needed to
improve competitiveness and secure long-term integration into broader value
chains.
A
key highlight of the forum was the presentation of the TELEMO platform, which
was showcased as a tool designed to enhance transparency and efficiency in
public procurement processes. Its introduction was welcomed by participants as
a step toward improving governance and strengthening trust in public sector
transactions.
The
forum brought together public and private sector stakeholders who commended the
level of engagement and the collaborative discussions throughout the session.
Organisers say the outcomes reinforce ongoing efforts to position digital
innovation as a driver of inclusive economic growth in Guinea.
