The
National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) has convened a Change
Ambassadors and Champions Workshop aimed at strengthening leadership capacity
for the implementation of digital government initiatives across the country.
The
workshop brought together Change Ambassadors from various Ministries,
Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as Local Governments (LGs), alongside
Change Champions serving as sector leads within NITA-U.
The
engagement provided participants with an opportunity to enhance their skills as
change leaders, strengthen collaboration among government institutions and
deepen their understanding of strategies that support the adoption of digital
government services under the Uganda Digital Acceleration Project-Government
Network (UDAP-GoVNet).
Through
interactive sessions, experience-sharing discussions and collaborative
engagements, participants explored approaches to effective change management,
stakeholder engagement and the successful implementation of digital
transformation programmes across government institutions.
NITA-U
said the workshop forms part of its broader efforts to build a strong network
of change leaders capable of driving the adoption of digital technologies and
supporting the modernization of public service delivery.
The
authority noted that fostering collaboration among key stakeholders is
essential to ensuring the successful rollout and uptake of digital government
initiatives designed to improve efficiency, transparency and accessibility of
public services.
The
workshop reaffirmed NITA-U’s commitment to advancing Uganda’s digital
transformation agenda by empowering leaders who will champion innovation and
support the integration of digital solutions across government.
