South Sudan's National Communication Authority (NCA) has hosted a special envoy of Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema in a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing telecommunications development across Africa.

The delegation, accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was received by Hon. Rizig Dominic Samuel at the NCA headquarters.

Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the two countries in the telecommunications sector, with particular attention given to the upcoming African Telecommunications Union (ATU) elections and Zambia’s vision for improving connectivity across the continent.

Officials also explored opportunities for deeper regional cooperation in digital infrastructure development, cross-border connectivity and the promotion of harmonized regulatory frameworks to support Africa’s digital transformation agenda.

The engagement highlighted the growing importance of regional partnerships in addressing common telecommunications challenges and accelerating access to digital services across African countries.

The NCA reaffirmed its commitment to working with regional and international partners to strengthen telecommunications networks, improve digital inclusion and support the development of policies that foster innovation and sustainable growth within the sector.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by African nations to enhance cooperation in information and communications technology and to build a more connected and digitally integrated continent.
