The
British High Commission in Nairobi has reported the participation of the UK
High Commissioner in the Global Data Festival 2026 and the Kenya Space Expo and
Conference (KSEC), held at the Edge Convention Centre in Kenya’s capital.
According
to the High Commission, the High Commissioner joined government officials,
industry leaders, and international stakeholders in discussions focused on the
future of data governance, emerging digital technologies, and Africa’s role in
shaping global policy and innovation frameworks.
The
engagements formed part of a broader series of high-level dialogues and
networking sessions that underscored the importance of collaboration between
governments, the private sector, and development partners in advancing
data-driven development and space-related innovation.
The
event also highlighted Kenya’s position as a growing hub for global digital and
space governance conversations, with organizers emphasizing the country’s
capacity to host international platforms that bring together diverse
stakeholders to address pressing global challenges.
The
participation comes at a significant moment as the United Kingdom and Kenya
mark one year of their Strategic Partnership, which continues to strengthen
bilateral cooperation across key sectors including technology, innovation, and
sustainable development.
