Ethiopost has presented its
nine-month performance report for the 2018 Ethiopian Fiscal Year to the
Standing Committee on Government Development Enterprises Affairs of the House
of Peoples’ Representatives for review and evaluation.
The session was attended by
the Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Honorable Ato Melese Mena, Deputy
Chairperson Dr. Engineer Sileshi Kore, and other committee members, who
reviewed the organization’s operational progress and strategic performance over
the reporting period.
The report was presented by
Ethiopost’s CEO delegate and Chief Commercial Officer, W/ro Tigist Bekele, who
outlined key achievements, including improvements in service delivery quality,
increased domestic revenue generation, modernization of postal services through
technology, and strengthened governance systems.
She also provided an
overview of challenges encountered during implementation, noting areas
requiring continued institutional attention and reform to enhance efficiency
and service delivery outcomes.
The Chairperson of the
Standing Committee, Honorable Ato Melese Mena, stated that the evaluation
process is intended to help state-owned enterprises strengthen performance and
deliver greater national impact.
He emphasized that such
engagements provide an important platform for accountability, transparency, and
continuous improvement.
At the conclusion of the
session, Ethiopost’s senior management responded to questions and
clarifications raised by committee members and reaffirmed the organization’s
commitment to incorporating feedback into ongoing reform initiatives aimed at
improving operational efficiency and service delivery.
