The Chief Executive Officer of Smart Africa, Lacina Koné, has been recognized at CAISEC 2026 for his contributions to advancing digital transformation and fostering a secure digital future across Africa.

The award was presented by Ahmed Kouchouk during the cybersecurity conference, which brings together government leaders, industry experts, and technology stakeholders to discuss emerging cyber threats and digital security strategies.

Koné described the recognition as a reflection of the collective efforts of the Smart Africa community and the broader network of institutions and professionals working to strengthen digital trust and cybersecurity across the continent.

He also acknowledged the role of Ossama Kamal in establishing CAISEC as a platform for promoting cybersecurity collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders from different regions.

The recognition comes as African countries continue to increase investments in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity frameworks, and regional cooperation aimed at building resilient digital economies and protecting critical information systems.

As CEO of Smart Africa and a member of the United Nations Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, Koné has been actively involved in initiatives designed to accelerate digital transformation, expand connectivity, and promote secure and inclusive digital ecosystems across Africa.

CAISEC 2026 has served as a forum for discussions on cybersecurity resilience, digital trust, and the partnerships required to address the evolving challenges facing governments, businesses, and citizens in an increasingly connected world.
