The Ministry of Revenue, the Information Network Security Administration (INSA), Siinqee Bank, and Goh Betoch Bank have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at modernising Ethiopia’s electronic tax collection system through enhanced digital integration and service delivery.

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration to enable taxpayers to make secure, fast, and convenient tax payments at any time and from any location using Derash, INSA’s indigenous bill aggregation platform.

According to the partners, the initiative is expected to improve transparency, efficiency, and trust in tax administration processes while also advancing financial inclusion through expanded access to digital payment services across the country.

The MoU also supports the continued expansion of Derash’s banking integration network, bringing additional financial institutions into Ethiopia’s digital tax ecosystem and strengthening interoperability within the sector.

Officials noted that the partnership aligns with the broader objectives of the Digital Ethiopia 2030 strategy, which seeks to accelerate national digital transformation and modernise public service delivery through technology-driven solutions.

The collaboration is expected to play a key role in enhancing revenue collection efficiency while contributing to the development of a more secure and inclusive digital financial infrastructure in Ethiopia.
