Rwanda’s Minister of State
in charge of ICT and Innovation, Yves N. Iradukunda, has visited 42 Paris to
discuss digital education, innovation, and the development of technology talent
as countries seek to prepare their workforces for an increasingly digital
future.
The visit provided an
opportunity for officials from Rwanda and representatives of the 42 network to
exchange perspectives on the evolving demands of the global digital economy and
the need to equip young people with the skills required to thrive in technology-driven
industries.
Discussions focused on the
growing importance of digital education and the role of innovation ecosystems
in fostering talent development. Participants highlighted the need for stronger
international cooperation and knowledge-sharing to address common challenges
associated with digital transformation and workforce readiness.
The engagement also
underscored the importance of creating opportunities for young people to
acquire practical technology skills that can support entrepreneurship,
innovation, and economic growth.
Representatives of 42 Paris
noted the institution’s expanding presence across Africa, with campuses and
initiatives already established in Morocco, Angola, and Madagascar. The network
said its growing footprint on the continent reflects a commitment to supporting
digital skills development and strengthening local innovation ecosystems.
The visit comes as Rwanda
continues to position itself as a regional leader in digital transformation
through investments in technology infrastructure, digital services, innovation,
and human capital development.
