EthSwitch has
received the Strategic Partnership Recognition Award for 2025/26 from Bank of
Abyssinia, recognizing the organizations' continued collaboration in support of
banking operations, customer service delivery, and institutional growth.
In a public
statement, EthSwitch said the award acknowledges its contribution to the bank's
operational performance and customer service objectives through ongoing
cooperation between the two institutions.
The recognition
comes as Ethiopia continues to expand its digital payments ecosystem through
greater interoperability among banks, financial institutions, payment service
providers, and digital finance platforms. As the country's national payment
switch operator, EthSwitch plays a central role in enabling electronic payment
infrastructure and supporting the development of interoperable digital
financial services.
EthSwitch said
the award reinforces its commitment to working with financial institutions and
stakeholders across the ecosystem to advance digital payments and support the
growth of Ethiopia's digital economy.
The company has
recently been involved in broader efforts to strengthen real-time and
interoperable payment infrastructure as Ethiopia pursues wider digital
financial inclusion and implementation of its national digital payments agenda.
The Strategic
Partnership Recognition Award was presented by Bank of Abyssinia as part of its
2025/26 institutional recognition program.
