Orange Money Sénégal,
SONATEL, Orange Bank Africa Sénégal and Dakar Mobilité have signed a strategic
partnership to accelerate the digitalisation of urban transport in Senegal,
introducing mobile ticket purchases for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system through
the Max it platform.
The agreement was signed in
the presence of Sonatel Group Chief Executive Officer Brelotte Ba and Dakar
Mobilité Chief Executive Officer Cheikh Yatt Diouf.
As the first outcome of the
partnership, commuters can now purchase BRT tickets through the SunuBRT mini
application integrated into Max it, enabling passengers to buy tickets
digitally in a secure and simplified process.
The partners said the
initiative is aimed at improving convenience for commuters while supporting the
modernisation of Senegal's urban mobility system through digital technologies.
The collaboration combines
SONATEL's telecommunications infrastructure with Orange Money Sénégal's digital
payment capabilities, Orange Bank Africa Sénégal's financial services and Dakar
Mobilité's transport operations to deliver integrated mobility solutions.
The organisations said the
partnership reflects a shared commitment to using digital innovation to improve
public services, simplify daily commuting and promote more accessible and
inclusive urban transportation.
They added that the
initiative supports broader efforts to modernise public transport by leveraging
connectivity and digital financial services to enhance the passenger experience
and contribute to the development of smarter mobility solutions across Senegal.
