The Tony Blair Institute for
Global Change (TBI) has concluded a series of high-level engagements across
Africa focused on supporting governments to accelerate digital transformation,
harness artificial intelligence and advance national development priorities.
The engagements, led by
former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, covered Mozambique, Malawi, Rwanda,
Ethiopia and Kenya, where discussions centred on strengthening partnerships
between TBI and national governments.
Key areas of focus included
digital transformation, artificial intelligence adoption, investment promotion,
public-sector delivery and strategies to drive sustainable economic growth
across the continent.
TBI said the meetings
provided an opportunity to explore how the organisation can continue supporting
governments in translating ambitious policy goals into practical programmes
that deliver measurable outcomes for citizens.
The institute has been
working with governments across Africa to provide strategic advice, strengthen
state capacity and support the implementation of reforms aimed at improving
service delivery and economic development.
The discussions also
highlighted the growing importance of technology and innovation in addressing
development challenges, with digital infrastructure, AI and data-driven
solutions emerging as key tools for improving governance and expanding economic
opportunities.
TBI reaffirmed its
commitment to deepening collaboration with African governments and supporting
efforts to build stronger institutions, attract investment and deliver
inclusive growth.
The institute said it looks
forward to continuing its partnerships across the continent as governments
pursue digital-led transformation and long-term development objectives.
