MTN Zambia awards 2021 MTN MoMo Hackathon Challenge winners

Lusaka, Zambia - MTN Zambia
has presented the top three winners of the Zambian edition of the 2021 MTN MoMo
Hackathon developer challenge with their prizes.
The Top 3 teams were: Maliketi Exchange, an e-commerce platform in 1st Position, K1 foundation, an innovation-focused on philanthropy in 2nd Position, and Chroma Pixels Games focused on promoting Zambian content in gaming in 3rd Position.
Speaking
at the ceremony, MTN Zambia FinTech Managing Director Mr. Komba Malukutila
emphasized SMEs' critical role in fostering financial inclusion. "The MTN MoMo Hackathon is one of the ways we are collaborating with
SMEs in driving digital innovations," he said.
This, according to him, is a testament to MTN's commitment to accelerate the adoption of digital financial services in Zambia.
To present
the cheques to the Top 3 Winners, Mr. Malukutila was joined by Chanel Vas
Customer Engagement Director Mr. Dinko Svetic and BongoHive's co-founder and
Director of Entrepreneurship Simunza Muyangana.
Last
year, MTN Zambia partnered with Channel VAS and BongoHive to invite developers
and entrepreneurs in Zambia to participate in the MoMo Hackathon. The Hackathon
allowed young Zambian entrepreneurs to create innovative financial and
transactional applications using the MTN MoMo API platform.
