Okanta
A World Bank mission has
reviewed implementation progress under Uganda’s Digital Acceleration Project
(UDAP)–GovNet as the country continues efforts to expand connectivity,
strengthen digital government services and improve digital security.
The mission brought together
representatives from the World Bank, the National Information Technology
Authority-Uganda (NITA-U), the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance and
project teams to assess key milestones and implementation activities.
As part of the review, the
delegation visited the Special Interest Group Digital Innovation Hub Skilling
Center and Centre of Excellence at the Uganda Institute of Information and
Communications Technology (UICT) in Nakawa.
The team also visited
Uganda’s National Data Center, National CERT and Personal Data Protection
Office (PDPO) to assess progress across key components of the digital
transformation programme.
The visits provided an
opportunity for the mission to engage directly with technical and
implementation teams and review progress on interventions supporting Uganda’s
digital infrastructure and public-sector technology capabilities.
UDAP-GovNet is supporting
the expansion of digital connectivity and the development of stronger digital
government services while contributing to a more secure and inclusive digital
environment.
The mission’s review is
expected to inform continued implementation of the project and efforts to
deliver secure, inclusive and accessible digital services to citizens across
Uganda.
