MTN Rwanda has welcomed a
young participant, Gentille, under the Girls Takeover initiative, supported by
Plan International Rwanda, giving her an opportunity to engage with the
company’s Chief Executive Officer, Monzer Ali, and experience leadership firsthand.
As part of the initiative,
Gentille briefly stepped into the CEO’s shoes, engaging in conversations with
Ali and sharing her perspectives and recommendations on the importance of
creating opportunities for girls to lead, innovate and explore careers in technology
and telecommunications.
MTN Rwanda said the
initiative reflects its commitment to preparing and empowering the next
generation of leaders by creating opportunities for young girls to participate
in leadership experiences and decision-making spaces.
The company emphasised that
a more inclusive future begins with creating room for young girls to challenge
perspectives, share ideas and see themselves in positions where decisions are
made.
The initiative also
highlights the importance of encouraging girls to develop their leadership
potential and explore opportunities in sectors such as technology and
telecommunications.
MTN Rwanda said opening
doors for girls today would help shape the leaders, innovators and changemakers
of tomorrow.
