The MTN Congo Foundation has
recognised information professionals for their contributions to raising
awareness of health, gender equality, youth and development issues through
their journalistic work.
The recognition took place
during a media recognition ceremony organised by the United Nations Population
Fund (UNFPA), where the Foundation celebrated journalists whose productions
contribute to highlighting social issues and changing public perceptions.
The Executive Director of
the MTN Congo Foundation, Vanessa T., and the Managing Director of Mobile Money
Congo, Christian Kajeneri, participated in the ceremony by presenting
distinctions to the winners.
The Foundation said the
recognition highlighted the important role played by information professionals
in supporting community awareness initiatives, noting that behind every
awareness-raising action and community-focused initiative are voices that relay
information, perspectives that bear witness and stories that deserve to be
told.
The ceremony celebrated
journalistic excellence and the contribution of media professionals who give
visibility to initiatives aimed at advancing communities.
The Foundation reaffirmed
the importance of recognising journalists whose work helps bring critical
social issues to public attention and contributes to positive change.
