Mauritius Telecom has hosted
an edition of its TGIF Talks featuring Professor Moses Adoko, CEO of MakAstro
Tech & Services LLC and former Chief Knowledge Officer at NASA’s Goddard
Space Flight Center in the United States, who shared insights into the role of
leadership in accelerating digital transformation across Africa.
The session, held at the
Conference Room on Level 15 of Telecom Tower, focused on the theme “The Role of
Leadership for Digital Transformation in Africa”.
Drawing on more than 25
years of leadership and programme management experience at NASA, Professor
Adoko highlighted the importance of strategic vision, innovation, technology
adoption and organisational resilience in driving digital transformation across
organisations and the African continent.
He emphasised that
successful digital transformation goes beyond technology, requiring strong
leadership, a culture of innovation and the ability to embrace change.
The event also featured an
interactive fireside chat with Mauritius Telecom’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr
Veemal Gungadin, providing an opportunity to exchange perspectives on
leadership, digital transformation, and the opportunities and challenges organisations
are facing.
Staff from different
business units across Mauritius Telecom attended the session, which provided an
opportunity for cross-functional learning, dialogue and knowledge sharing.
The interactive discussions
and audience engagement encouraged participants to reflect on the leadership
capabilities needed to navigate an increasingly digital world.
