Algeria's
Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki has held bilateral
talks with his counterparts from Mauritania, Tunisia, Comoros, and the Republic
of Congo. During these discussions, four key areas emerged as focal points for
cooperation. First, the ministers explored opportunities for collaboration in ICT and AI,
highlighting the potential of these fields to drive innovation and
socio-economic development. Recognizing the fast-evolving landscape of AI, the
conversations emphasized the need for shared investments in research,
development, and the deployment of cutting-edge technologies across the
continent.

Second,
there was a concerted focus on enhancing
cybersecurity and strengthening digital infrastructure.
As African nations continue to embrace digital transformation, ensuring the
security and resilience of digital ecosystems has become paramount. The
discussions revolved around adopting collaborative strategies to safeguard
national and regional infrastructure against cyber threats.

Third,
the dialogues emphasized human
capacity development. The ministers stressed the necessity of
building skills and competencies among African youth and professionals to meet
the growing demand for tech-savvy talent. Initiatives for education, training,
and knowledge-sharing were identified as essential pathways to bridge the
skills gap and empower the continent's future leaders in ICT and AI.

Lastly,
the meetings sought to fortify the
resilience of shared infrastructure. By fostering
partnerships to create robust, interconnected systems, the participating
nations aim to ensure the seamless exchange of data, resources, and
technological innovations, thereby strengthening regional ties and promoting
economic growth.
As
Minister Sid Ali Zerrouki remarked, "Together, we are laying strong
foundations for a sustainable and prosperous technological future for
Africa."
