The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Sam Nartey George, has announced a series of regular stakeholder meetings with key players in the telecommunications sector. These meetings, aimed at fostering closer collaboration and seamless communication, will involve the National Communications Authority (NCA), the Ministry, and even the President of Ghana.

The announcement was made during a meeting with stakeholders from the Chamber of Telecommunications at the Ministry’s conference room in Accra. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to creating an inclusive and progressive digital ecosystem that benefits all Ghanaians.

Ghana’s telecommunications sector is a cornerstone of the country’s digital economy, enabling access to mobile and internet services, fostering innovation, and supporting economic growth. However, the sector faces challenges such as infrastructure gaps, regulatory hurdles, and the need for increased investment in emerging technologies.

Hon. Sam Nartey George believes that regular stakeholder engagement is key to overcoming these challenges. “By fostering closer collaboration and ensuring seamless communication, we can create an enabling environment for the telecommunications sector to thrive,” he said. “This will not only drive progress in our digital transformation journey but also improve service delivery and create opportunities for all Ghanaians.”

The Minister’s announcement has been welcomed by stakeholders in the telecommunications sector, who see it as a positive step toward addressing long-standing issues and unlocking the sector’s full potential. The Chamber of Telecommunications, which represents major telecom operators in Ghana, has expressed its readiness to work closely with the Ministry and the NCA to achieve shared goals.

The regular, stakeholder meetings are expected to facilitate open dialogue, build trust, and foster a sense of shared responsibility among all parties.
