Nigeria's Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani has paid a working visit to key technology projects in Lagos and Ogun States during the public holiday period. The engagements directly support President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda through concrete job creation and digital infrastructure initiatives.

In Lagos, the Minister conducted an inspection tour of the proposed Talent City development at the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) campus in Oshodi – a visionary project designed to establish Nigeria as Africa's premier Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) hub. The specialized ecosystem will cultivate high-value digital skills and create export-oriented employment opportunities for thousands of Nigerian youth in global digital services.

The ministerial delegation subsequently proceeded to Abeokuta where Dr. Tijani joined the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, to commission the new National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Community Tech Centre. This grassroots facility provides critical digital access points for underserved populations, offering vocational training, technology tools, and innovation resources to bridge the digital divide in Ogun State communities.

"From metropolitan talent hubs to rural tech centers, our strategy ensures no Nigerian is left behind in the digital economy," stated Dr. Tijani during the Abeokuta commissioning ceremony. The simultaneous development of high-end BPO infrastructure and community digital centers exemplifies the Ministry's dual approach to digital transformation – fostering globally competitive capabilities while ensuring inclusive access nationwide.

These initiatives form part of Nigeria's comprehensive digital economy blueprint which has already facilitated the creation of over 50,000 digital jobs since its launch. The Talent City project specifically responds to growing international demand for Nigerian tech talent, with the BPO sector projected to generate $5.6 billion in annual revenue by 2027.
