The Senegalese Agency for Space Studies (ASES) has reviewed the initial results of its Flood Intelligence Project, an initiative aimed at strengthening flood monitoring and early warning capabilities through the use of Earth Observation data and artificial intelligence.

The first results-sharing meeting for the ASES and SOLAFUNE Flood Monitoring Solution was held on Friday, July 31, bringing together project partners to assess progress made and discuss the next steps in developing an innovative flood monitoring system.

The meeting was held under the leadership of ASES Director General, Mr. Maram Kaire, and provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange insights on the project’s implementation, evaluate achievements and identify opportunities to further enhance the solution.

The Flood Intelligence Project leverages satellite-based Earth Observation technologies combined with artificial intelligence to improve the monitoring, prediction and management of flood risks.

Through the initiative, ASES and its partners aim to strengthen access to reliable information that can support decision-making by authorities and improve preparedness in communities affected by flooding.
