More than 200 people participated in a public conference in Agboville focused on responsible social media use and the protection of personal data, organised by the Regional Council of Agnéby-Tiassa in partnership with the Autorité de Régulation des TIC (ARTCI).

The conference was organised under the theme “Youth, Social Networks and Personal Data: responsible uses for a future” and focused on promoting safer and more responsible digital practices among young people.

The meeting was moderated by Isaac Gnamba-Yao, First Vice-President of the Regional Council and a member of the ARTCI Regulatory Council, who led discussions on good digital practices and the protection of personal information.

ARTCI deployed a dedicated team to support the awareness-raising activities, highlighting the risks associated with the use of social networks and the importance of responsible engagement with digital technologies.

The discussions provided participants with guidance on protecting personal information while navigating social media platforms and other digital services.

ARTCI said the engagement reflects its commitment to contributing to a safer and better-regulated digital environment, particularly by equipping young people with the knowledge needed to protect themselves and use digital platforms responsibly.
