MTN Group has convened
fintech leaders, innovators, partners and industry experts from across Africa
and beyond in Johannesburg for the MTN Group Fintech Summit, with discussions
focused on advancing financial inclusion, digital payments and participation in
Africa’s digital economy.
The summit builds on the
momentum of last year’s “Take Off” theme and this year adopts “Maximum
Velocity” as its central focus, reflecting an ambition to accelerate
collaboration and innovation across the continent’s financial services
ecosystem.
The event provides a
platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, build partnerships and examine
emerging opportunities in financial technology, with particular attention to
digital payments, financial inclusion, innovation and the future of financial
services.
MTN said the summit is
intended to create space for the ecosystem to connect and collaborate on
solutions capable of turning emerging fintech opportunities into meaningful
economic and social impact.
Discussions are also
expected to examine how digital financial services can expand access to
financial products and services while creating new opportunities for
individuals, businesses and communities across Africa.
The company emphasised that
the future of financial services will require collaboration across the
ecosystem rather than being driven by a single company or institution.
The summit therefore brings
together stakeholders from across the fintech value chain to explore how
partnerships, innovation and digital technologies can accelerate financial
inclusion and support broader economic participation.
