Shinichi Kato, Senior
Managing Executive Officer and Group CEO of the Communication Service Group at
Sumitomo Corporation, has visited Safaricom Ethiopia to review the company’s
progress over the past five years and discuss its future priorities and growth
ambitions.
During the visit, Kato held
discussions with Safaricom Ethiopia CEO Wim Vanhelleputte and members of the
company’s senior leadership team on its achievements, current progress and key
priorities for the years ahead.
The engagement provided an
opportunity for both sides to reflect on Safaricom Ethiopia’s journey since
entering the market and to consider the major milestones the company is
targeting as it continues to expand its operations.
Kato also visited exhibition
booths showcasing the work and progress of Safaricom Ethiopia’s core business
functions, gaining further insight into the company’s operations, performance
and achievements.
As one of Safaricom
Ethiopia’s shareholders, Sumitomo Corporation continues to play a role in
supporting the telecommunications operator’s development and long-term
ambitions in Ethiopia.
